When it rains, it pours!

It’s been raining almost constantly here for the last two days. And so, since my photography prompt the last few days pretty much required me to take my camera outside, I figured I’d take a little break from posting about the class.

Instead today I have not one, but two cards that I made for challenges! I know, I know! I’m shocked myself. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to play along with any challenges.

The first is for the Finding Inspiration in a Layout Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog.

The challenge was to create a card inspired by this layout.

And here’s my card.

I took my inspiration from the circle title piece and the strips of patterned paper across the middle.

The second one is for the sketch challenge over at Practicing Creativity Designs.

I used Dana’s sketch.

And here’s my card.

I finally got to ink up my jar stamp from Papertrey Ink. How fun is that little jar! I just love those paint brushes. Coloring in the brush images took me back to my days as a decorative painter. I spent lots of time shading in small spaces and focusing on light and shadows. Now I rarely ever color in any images. It is time consuming, but I like the results.
I added a bit of crystal effects to the paint on the tips of the brushes to give it a more realistic shine.

Hey! I think I see the sun peeking out! that means it’s safe to venture outside with my camera and get caught up on this weeks’ assignments!

I catch up with you all soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thanks card: card stock: Stampin’ Up!; patterned paper: Studio Calico, October Afternoon, Scarlet Lime; journaling spot: Heidi Swapp; letter stickers: American Crafts; gems: Kaiser; ribbon: unknown

Art from the Heart card: card stock: Stampin’ Up!; ink: Stampin’ up!, Ranger; stamps: papertrey Ink; patterned paper: Lilybee, Tree House Memories; twine: no source

Love those paint brushes. I love the crystal effects on the paint brushes. I think this is my favorite set from last month’s release but I’ve only inked it up once so far.

You did a beautiful job on this card. The coloring/shading is amazing. I also love the diamond glaze on the paint brushes.

This is GREAT! Love the way you used the white ink on the jar. It makes it look like light reflecting off of it. Your paint brushes look awesome as well!
