December Memories album

Hey there! Merry Christmas Eve!

I just wanted to pop in and share a couple more pages in my December Memories album. I’ve been sneaking in a few moments here and there to print out photos and work on my album. These last few days have been so very dreary and rainy, not so good for photo taking. So please forgive me for the grainy and unclear photos. Just as soon as we get a decent day, weather wise, I’ll be sure to take more photos and share more details of my album. I still have lots more photos I’d like to print out and add. Plus, there will be many more photos taken in the next day or so.

These are in order as they appear in the album, but there a couple of days in between some of them where I’m still working on the pages.

This is day #10.We had a candlelight dinner as a family. I included one small photo of that on the left. I thought it would be fun to make an entire page of small, stitched pockets to hold some of the awesome embellishments that come in the December Memories kit. That’s what you see on the right. I love the way it turned out, and it just goes to show how much extra stuff actually comes in the kits. I still have plenty left over to finish my album.

Day #12 was our kids’ school Christmas Program. I included lots of larger photos here of my kids and their classes singing their parts, and also of the various special parts my kids had.

Day #14 (missing day #13 still). This is a photo of the lights my son strung up all around his room. I have another photo of the decorations the kids put in their rooms at another spot in the album as well. I just really liked this shot of the colorful lights.

These pages are Days #15 and #17. Obviously I have a page that will go in between these two. But I still have to print out the photos for that one.

Day #15 is a photo of our Christmas tree. I had fun taking some bokeh shots, and included them in my album in a couple of different places. Day #17 shows the first gift under the tree. I would love to be that person that has a beautiful, big stack of nicely wrapped gifts under the tree, days before Christmas even comes. But, sadly, we are those people that wait until the last minute to get most of our gifts. That means we may have only a few presents under the tree at any given time as they’re bought, wrapped, and distributed at various times.

Skipping day #18, for now. Day #19 was the day the kids and I made our traditional Christmas cut-out cookies. I have more photos of this, since it’s a yearly tradition. We began making these particular cut-outs when my sons were about 2 and 4 years old, and have been making them every year since. I remember so week those years of making these decorated cookies when he kids were small. We’d end up with the entire kitchen floor covered in sprinkles, flour, and dough droppings. But what a fun time we had together.

I’m wondering how long this tradition will go on yet, since the kids seemed much less interested this year. My oldest, especially. The younger two stuck with it pretty much the entire time, so we’ll see what happens next year. Maybe it’s time to begin a new tradition?

That’s all for this time. I have so many more photos to add and more ideas to incorporate. I hope to get lots of crafty time over the next couple of days. I don’t have much planned besides diving into my Gossamer Blue Decemeber kits, that are still untouched, and doing some fun activities with the kids.

Tonight is our annual Christmas Eve service at our church, which we all look forward to. It’s always such a meaningful time of celebration with our church family. And then tomorrow is Christmas!! I can’t believe it, y’all! I still have a few presents to wrap, some food to make, and a little cleaning up to do.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Merry Christmas Eve!
