going corporate

Hiya lovelies!

Can you believe October is almost over already?? I mean, Can you believe it??? And not only that, tomorrow they’re predicting sn……aggghhh, can’t say that word yet!! I mean, it’s still October! C’mon, maybe some rain, but not….THAT! (sigh) Maybe the weather is trying to keep up with the frantic pace we bring on the holidays. I’m pretty sure I saw Christmas stuff right after Easter in the stores this year. I kid. But it does seem to be rushed more and more, doesn’t it?

Moving on.

A couple of days ago Dear Husband came to me with a request. A client of theirs was about to undergo surgery and he wanted a nice card to send to him from the company. Could I do that? You betcha!

So I thought “something nice and simple, no do-dads and frilly stuff, definitely masculine, corporate looking. Nothing to artsy and funky. “. So I sat down at my craft table and began to play. I got a little side tracked and came up with this.

Hmmm….while this card was definitely fun to make, and is pretty masculine, in my humble opinion,  it wasn’t the look I was going for.  It needed to be simpler. Cleaner. And also flatter and easier to mail. Let’s try again.

How about this?

That’s better! A very simple and straightforward layout, but not boring. I kept the colors masculine, but soft and soothing at the same time, which I think is appropriate for someone facing surgery. Soothing and peaceful is good.

So, whatya got goin’ on? Planning anything special for the weekend? Halloween/Fall parties perhaps? Maybe some crafting? I don’t know about you, but I’m glad it’s Friday. Tomorrow is “sleep in” day! A time to relax and enjoy the family. Sounds heavenly to me!

Drop me a line and let me know what’s up! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by!

Both cards are fantastic! By your post title I thought you were going to announce that you started your own line of papers or stamps or something! I’d be your first customer! Hah! Working on lots of projects this weekend, I hope that my creativity will come back soon.

I love both cards and agree with you about the second being easier to mail. I’ve got to make two get well cards tonight. I found out today my mother was in the hospital (she’s okay now) and will ride down with dh in the morning. He and a friend already had plans to make the 2 1/2 hour trip for a baseball card show, so my dd and I are going to ride along. The other card is for an aunt who has some bad health issues. She’s been an avid quilter so I’m going to do one of those cards that looks like a quilt. Wish me luck!
