Hey there! How’s it going?
I decided to emerge from my piles of laundry to share a card with you for the current challenge over at Everything but the Kitchen Sink.
This time around the challenge is to use buttons. Not too hard for a button lover like me. In fact, the little heart shaped darling on this card came from who-knows-where. It was one I found lurking in my button box for a while just waiting for the perfect time to be used.
I love using punny sentiments with my hot air balloon images from Practicing Creativity Designs. I sat down one day and thought up a bunch that you just might see me use sometime in the future. I printed this one out on my computer.
I think Courtney needs to come up with a sentiments stamp set to coordinate with these balloons. Wouldn’t that be great? Ones that say stuff like “thanks for the lift!” and “your friendship is so uplifting” and “you’re such a hottie”. Of course I can only think of one person I’d actually use that last one on, though. Hee!
Or, how about the saying we used to use when I was a kid “you’re so full of hot air!” It was a nicer way to say you’re full of something else. Perhaps that sentiment would be appropriate when you need a card for that someone who is usually a little less than truthful. What do you think, Courtney? I think it’d be a great seller!! Hee!!
I’m going to try to get back to some of my photography assignments from Shimelle’s class later today. The class is mostly over now, but I’m planning to keep on working at it until I’m done. So I’ll be back soon (hopefully) with my next batch of photographs.
Talk to you all soon! Thanks so much for stopping by!
supplies: card stock: Stampin’ Up!, Papertrey Ink; stamps: Look up! From Practicing Creativity Designs, Background Basics Diamonds from Papertrey Ink; ink: Stampin’ Up!; patterned apper: Pebbles, The Girl’s Paperie; sentiment: printed on computer; button, twine: no source
So cute! And I have been thinking the same thing, Courtney does need to make some more sentiments for the ballon images! I would buy them! 🙂
Thanks so much for playing with us in the EBTKS challenge! 🙂
Wow, this is gorgeous! Love the pop of red color and the patterns (even in the clouds!). You should submit this to a magazine for publishing!
This is fantabulous!! Love the balloon you created and the super fun yellow clouds!
Gorgeous as always, Brenda! Thanks for playing the EBTKS challenge!
Amazing Brenda – I love the button placed in the middle of the sentiment – the only issue I have is that I now WANT this set!!!
Hugs,
Caryn xxx
Wow fab card! Love the retro colours. Simply effective.
Hi, Brenda!
I love the card, especially the use of patterned paper for the clouds! Paper piecing is so effective, and in my opinion, way under used.
Was your class with Shimelle an online class? I am really interested in honing my photography skills and would love to hear more about it. Any info you could send me would be greatly appreciated.
Enjoy this summer day with your kids!
Blessings,
Barbara
Brenda, I love this card. I think the sentiments are great, too. You could really “get carried away” with them! LOL
What a cute card! I love the elements you used and the sentiment is really adorable.
This is such a fun card! I love your sentiment too.
Brenda, this is a wonderful card! I love the paper piecing you did, and the heart button is the cutest touch! And I really like your ideas for sentiments to go with the balloon! I’d buy them, and I don’t own any Practicing Creativity Designs (yet)! 😀
I love this card, and agree the paper-pieced balloons are wonderful. Practicing Creativity Designs is unfamiliar to me. I love what I see on your card, but I’m afraid to look. I don’t need any new temptations! By the time I get home, I will have been away two weeks, and was behind when I left with Shimelle’s prompts. It will probably take the rest of August to get caught up!
What a darling card and such a good use of that button! I clicked over here from the EBTKS site and am thinking about entering the challenge too. Now, to find a surface on my desk to actually create something on…
Fabulous card, Brenda!!! I love the colors!
What a beautiful card. I love the heart button. I just purchaced a hor air balloon set, you have inspired me to use it SOON!
I love your card!! so cute!
Um… what I want to know is how you have access to my brain. HA HA! 🙂 No seriously… this may be becoming a reality sooner than you thought. And I like some of these a lot! 🙂
Those sentiment ideas are fantastic! I’m sure Courtney won’t be sitting on them for long! Hee! Congrats! LOVE all the elements of your card and that color combo!
Love the different patterned clouds, congrats on your domestic diva win.
I just love this card, you have used one of my current favourite papers (the yellow clouds paper). Congrats on your domestic diva win 🙂 🙂
Absolutely adorable!
Congratulations on your Domestic Diva title! I’m in love with that button – great choice for your darling card! 🙂
I love the patterned paper clouds in yellow! so eye catching!!
