Apple Orchard

Happy Friday, all!

I would feel much better about it being Friday if I actually felt like I had accomplished something this week. I’ve been feeling a little under the weather. Not sick, but just bone tired with a tiny hint of a headache the last few days. I even went to bed one evening around 9:30 which is extremely unusual for me. It felt good to get extra sleep, but I still feel really tired.

So all I’ve been getting done this week is the essentials. Nothing extra. In fact, the only creative thing I did all week is to complete a page for Kristina’s Color Inspiration Challenge. At least I did that!

This week’s colors are More Mustard, Really Rust, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White.

These are not colors I normally choose to work with so it really was a challenge to to find a project to use them in, especially since I wanted to do a scrapbook page instead of a card, so I had to make sure I had photos that would work well with these colors.

These are photos I took of my son’s class field trip to the apple orchard. I thought the colors worked well with the theme.
I’ve been wanting to do a shaped layout like this for a while now. I’ve been seeing them a lot, especially in the shape of hearts, and I had the idea stored away in my head for a time that I would have a layout where it would work. I chose an apple shape to reinforce the apple orchard theme. I hand drew mine and used dimensionals to lift it up a bit from the page for added interest.

All the items used on this page are from Stampin’ Up! except for the two green patterned papers, and the two embellishments after the word orchard.

I’ve gotta go and make sure my housework gets done now before my hot hubby and I head out for a much needed date night tonight! WooHoo!

Have a great weekend!!!

Thanks for your popping by my blog and leaving me a comment. I love your apple LO. You cut out the apple frame so well, I’m not great at hand cutting shapes. I must get back into my scrapbooking soon, it’s great fun.

I love hearing from my readers! Thanks for your comment!
